Not that it matters, I'm not sure he was an arch angel. He did get an upgrade, so I think he became a Seraphim. Even after reading the various wikis (and spoiling a lot of things for myself) I never read that. But Cassiel is a latin name for a mythical archangel. So who knows? xD Some things were rather vague at times. Like Chuck. Was he or wasn't he God? Sigh.
Castiel may not have been an Archangel per say but he did end up as a self proclaimed God LOL
